Job Summary
The position is primarily responsible for accurate and timely coding of patients’ clinical information, with compliance to the Ministry of Health’s requirement, and international standards. He/She develops, drives and maintains the required coding standards as stipulated by the various requirement and standards. Responsibilities
Oversees the smooth flow of case notes that require coding. Ensure confidentiality of cases notes in Health Information Management Service. Checks and codes patients' conditions and care delivered, as documented in patients' case notes. Codes patients' conditions and care delivered with compliance to ICD10AM (Australia Coding Standard, ACS) Ensures accuracy in coding as according to information derived from patients' case notes. Advice on relevant usage of diagnosis codes upon enquires. Ensures Thomson Medical Centre complies with clinical coding guidelines. Uploads coded data monthly, to Ministry of Health. Carries out weekly audits for yearly submission to Ministry of Health. Provides timely coding on DRGs to Business Office for data verification on bill size annually. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in medicine, Nursing or Health Science or equivalent Candidate should preferably have a Certificate in ICD-10-Am coding or at least minimum a year of relevant medical coding experience in a local hospital setting A target-oriented team player with initiative and positive work attitude Meticulous with strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ICD-10-AM coding is preferred
